We all need and have a purpose. As followers of Christ, we believe we are called to build God’s Kingdom and to be a light on the earth. Being a ‘light’ doesn't look the same in every church, so these are some of the ways we choose to make a difference in our community.
Cap City Sport
Cap City Sport has been happening for a few years now with the core values of friendship and evangelism through sport. We currently have a netball team that, in its current form, has been together for 3 seasons and we are looking to expand this to other sports as people show interest and want to get involved. Cap City Sport is a way for us as a church to reach outside of the church walls, to get to know people in our community organically in a fun environment and to show God's love. It's a great way to form relationships with people we may not otherwise get to meet, and to be able to be a support and be Gods light in their lives.
Starfish Kids camp UK
Starfish Kids Camp is a one-week residential camp hosted by our church. It is designed to meet the unique needs of looked-after children and children at risk in the nation. Starfish Kids is part of Royal Family KIDS, a faith-based organisation in the U.S. Our church is passionate about this annual camp. Started three years ago by two women in our church, Hannah Preece-Davies and Helen Bishop, we have seen and experienced incredible stories of change it has made in the lives of the children that attended.
“Every 30 seconds someone becomes a slave. Manumit Coffee offers dignity and hope to survivors of modern-day slavery.” We’ve chosen as a church to stand behind the Manumit movement by using their coffee at church. Click below to find out more about how Manumit makes a difference.
Operation christmas child
Every Christmas our church participates with Operation Christmas Child. “The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to show God's love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the good news of Jesus Christ.”
We love standing behind this mission as a church - even our little ones get involved to choose what goes into the shoeboxes!
